Duffield Castle
Situated at the north end of the village on the A6 the site can be accessed by a flight of steps. Now owned and maintained by The National Trust, there is little evidence of the castle above ground but from the extent of the foundations it is possible to imagine the commanding position it would have held overlooking the confluence. Had it been completed, it would have been comparable with the White Tower in London.
